My work for the San Marco Magazine takes me to some pretty sweet places. This time around I got a glimpse into the posh life of the residence of San Marco Place... Really nice condos in the San Marco/Downtown Jax area.... As I photographed the condo I noticed that she had a sweet view of the Chart House, where Wes proposed... So pretty!!!!
Along with my yummy photos for the magazine, I got to spend the day with the lovely ladies of Salon On The Square Salon & Spa.... These ladies were a total TRIP!!!! Pamela (the top photo) was awesome, she wanted the photos to showcase the personalities of each of her ladies, and by George I think we got it!
When Jennifer with the San Marco Magazine asked Wes and I if we were interested in doing a food article for the mag we of course said yes!!! Not are Wes and I huge foodies that sit and watch the food network for entertainment almost nightly, it was a big part of our attraction to one another and also part of our first date even! We love going to new restaurants (well ones we haven't been to before) or just frequenting (when the budget allows) some of our favs in town.
Among those favs are Bistro Aix, Biscotti's, and BB's... along with a few others but those are def the top three! Jennifer secured 4 establishments for us to photograph and "taste" and among them were Matthew's Market which I've been wanting to try and Bistro Aix! Not only did she secure a time for me to be there to shoot, she also secured us actually meeting Chef Tom Gray for the shoot! Wes was like a kid in a candy store when I told him that!!
I know, I know... we are a bit dorky... meeting a local celeb Chef being the highlight of our month... possibly the coolest thing we've done all year is a bit geeky I'll admit but Chef Tom was awesome! Not only can me the man cook... he's a super nice guy! He sat and talked with us on how the meal was prepaired, some cute childhood stuff, even brought us the seasonal "tart" for us to taste.... It was nothing less than my fav Peach Cobbler!!!!! I was so excited that I completely forgot to take a photo of it!!!!

For most photographers this is wedding season... For me wedding season seems to be Sept-Dec... last year my busiest month was October and this year all my currently booked weddings are for the winter as well.
Maybe God just knows that I don't like/want to sweat to death :) (although the weather has been great here lately)
I have been keeping busy though, I've had some shoots for the San Marco and Beaches Magazines and other business owners. The first shoot was a while back and I posted a little teaser photo, here are a few more...
Fraternal twins... and NO I'm not pregnant!
As some of you will remember from my blog back in Feb about My Husband, he was to be featured on the cover of the beaches magazine for this quarter. And on top of that magazine cover Samantha is on the San Marco Magazine cover.... so here are a photo of my twins....
Then to top off all that amazingness, there is an article about me in on page 3 of the San Marco Magazine!!!!
So, now that you know about all this coolness go pick up a copy, they are located in all the little shops along the center square of five points!
That's right ladies... My husband is a model! well he's my model, but that's not the point. This issue of the Beaches Magazine will feature a photo of my hubby golfing on the beach.... Yes I know you don't golf on the beach, you don't practice golfing on the beach, but that's part of the appeal it'll get people picking up the magazine cause it's not something you ever see.
The day we went out was perhaps the windiest day of the year so we were lucky to get any shots... Jennifer the editor and owner of the Magazine has chosen this photo as the cover photo for the Beaches Magazine

Back in May I did a bridal expo downtown. At the expo I met Samantha and Robert who are getting married in April of this year. Sam is such an outgoing, funny, beautiful woman. I offered to give them a free "trash the dress" session with their package and they jumped at the chance. Sam was concerned with trashing her own dress but loved the concept. I happened to have a previously worn wedding dress in a size that would fit her so we went to Big Talbot one extremely hot day last year and got trashed!!!
When showing my work to the owner of San Marco Magazine she saw Sam's photos and said that her energetic, and beautiful smile would make a great magazine cover... I told her that I was sure Sam would be happy to have her bridal photos on the cover of a magazine, and I was right. I messaged Sam over MySpace and she jumped at the chance! We went to The Boyer House in San Marco. Since I'm good friends with one of Mr. Boyer's daughters (Kimberly of Once Upon A Memory) I got permission to do photos on the property. We also hit friendship fountain and River City Brewery on our fun day out!! Here are some of my favs from the day. More can be seen on both my website, and the full session in my SmugMug galleries.
Now the issue is how the heck do I choose favorites for the Editor she was 3-5 to choose from... and a collage of them all would just be too busy for the cover... :)
Back in December I started advertising in print, I chose a small magazine in Jacksonville called the San Marco Magazine. While sitting down with the owner of the publication I also asked if she ever needed artwork for the magazine and she said yes. So I told her I'd love to help her out just to have my work out there. A few days after our meeting she called me asking if I thought I could do the cover of the magazine she gave me a theme and I ran with it... the result is at www.thesanmarcomagazine.com
The magazine is quarterly, so this cover has run from November till end of January so there will be a new magazine and a new cover in Febuary, so be sure to check back as my bride Samantha will grace the cover of the Feb-Apr issue of San Marco Magazine!
