I live down a very dark, very creepy road on the west side of Jacksonville. We didn't get any trick or treaters last year (or at least we don't think cause we were at Fall Festival) I know Wes didn't get any this year. I'm not the type that likes scary movies or likes to sit at home on Halloween. I'm the type that would rather be around light hearted people and having wholesome fun. (Could be because I'm a big ole scardey cat, never know!!!)
This year I left my tired husband at home and went to Fall Festival for a few to snap some photos of the happenings. I'm a member of Grace Church of Avondale, an amazing church!! Every year they put on a Fall Festival for the kids in the neighborhood. Free food, big blow up slides, this year they had ponies! (which I have to admit were a bit smelly) It's a good time to be had by all, and a great place to bring your kids to get some free Halloween candy and not have to worry about who's house they are going to, or the environment they are in.
Last year, I volunteered to take photos for the church, I wandered around the entire night taking photos off all the great costumes, the other volunteers etc etc. Business has kept me away from Church A LOT this year, after long Saturday weddings you kinda just want to sleep on Sunday, and a lot of times I had other shoots on Sundays! But anyway, that's another topic. I decided I didn't want to sit at home and have to wait for a knock on the door just to turn away some poor kid, or end up giving them koolaid packages or something, I decided to be productive. I wanted to capture what was going on behind the scenes of Fall Festival, the atmosphere not all the visitors like last year, but the important stuff that no one really pay any attention to.
