for u and i

Earlier this year I met a remarkably beautiful woman named Priscilla or Cilla for short. She took advantage of some specials I was doing when I first started out and vowed to be my best client, and she is! Her and her brother Keith sing in a band "for u and i" So, for the 4th time in 2007 Cilla has hired me again! this time for formal band photos. The band is a dark, Christian based, rock band; so naturally they wanted their photos to reflect who they are. I'm very excited for them, I've listened to their music and have to say they are pretty darn good! I'll be even more excited to see if one of my photos makes it onto a huge poster or flyer for the band or even the CD cover!!!! woohoo!

Priscilla!

Christmas at Grace

This Christmas for the first time in a very long time I went to a church Christmas Eve service. I honestly LOVE my Church!! The service was beautiful, they had the candles of Advent. At the end of the service all the members lined the Church with candles and sang Silent Night, it was soooo beautiful, and me being me snapped some photos!

I cry almost every morning

I'm an addict. I've become completely addicted to the Hallmark Channel! As a child I watched Little House on the Prairie every morning, now as an adult, I do the same! I'm NOT a morning person in the least so when I wake up around 7 I don't really move till about 8 or 8:30. Usually I angry because I'm awake so I turn on the CBS Early Show and watch it till I get hungry, then watch while I eat... I of course check my myspace during this time! Depending on my work load I get off my tush and start doing "work" related things around 9AM. However, this week I've been sick. Lay on the couch would rather be dead SICK, and I discovered that one of my fav shows, Matlock, no longer comes on after the Early Show. This has been my stay at home sick TV schedule for YEARS. Early Show, Matlock, Nap, Young and the Restless... that's just what I do when I'm ill I catch up on the Soaps! To my dismay Matlock has been replaced by the 700 club. (I'm not going to go there) so needless to say I had to search the channels to see what else was on. During this time the Mr. Rogersesq show How It's Made is on Discovery, but just two channels down I see that Little House comes on the Hallmark Channel just an hour later... So earlier this week laying on the couch giving into my cold I tuned in, and now I can't stop! Even if I'm in my (extremely disorderly) office I have the TV tuned there. The lessons the show holds for children have been known forever and I always knew it was a great show for kids but now as an adult watching the show it's much much more in depth than just the basic golden rule. My appreciation for my husband has grown, understanding of why people do what they do and act the way they do has grown, and I just feel like I learn something new every single day. I'm a sap I know! I just wanted to share in my new addiction... Like a good little addict....

News of late & Coming soon!!!!

OK the news of late, I've been sick as a dog for the past few days!! I haven't updated this thing like I said I would :( so, here we go. I've got new baby photos and holiday photos to post up either this afternoon or tomorrow so be on the look out for that (I say this like I have avid readers already lol) I did Santa Photos with Achy Breaky Ceramics this past weekend, we had about 10 clients total... Advertising is so hard when you are on a shoestring budget....

So, the baby photos, and holiday photos are coming soon... Now for the GREAT news... My Website should be finished by Christmas... I got the email for the "mockup" of the site this morning and it's wonderful!!!! I can't say enough about the guys that created it... Please be sure to check out Day Dream Creative if you need your website updated. Seeee I'm not in a position to afford a spiffy full flash site so I needed to find someone that could provide me with a site that serves my needs and is very sleek and professional... Day Dream Creative did the job... and did it well!!! the website will be up soon! I promise!

Halloween 2007 GCA Fall Festival

I live down a very dark, very creepy road on the west side of Jacksonville. We didn't get any trick or treaters last year (or at least we don't think cause we were at Fall Festival) I know Wes didn't get any this year. I'm not the type that likes scary movies or likes to sit at home on Halloween. I'm the type that would rather be around light hearted people and having wholesome fun. (Could be because I'm a big ole scardey cat, never know!!!)

This year I left my tired husband at home and went to Fall Festival for a few to snap some photos of the happenings. I'm a member of Grace Church of Avondale, an amazing church!! Every year they put on a Fall Festival for the kids in the neighborhood. Free food, big blow up slides, this year they had ponies! (which I have to admit were a bit smelly) It's a good time to be had by all, and a great place to bring your kids to get some free Halloween candy and not have to worry about who's house they are going to, or the environment they are in.

Last year, I volunteered to take photos for the church, I wandered around the entire night taking photos off all the great costumes, the other volunteers etc etc. Business has kept me away from Church A LOT this year, after long Saturday weddings you kinda just want to sleep on Sunday, and a lot of times I had other shoots on Sundays! But anyway, that's another topic. I decided I didn't want to sit at home and have to wait for a knock on the door just to turn away some poor kid, or end up giving them koolaid packages or something, I decided to be productive. I wanted to capture what was going on behind the scenes of Fall Festival, the atmosphere not all the visitors like last year, but the important stuff that no one really pay any attention to.

Halloween at the Bark

Stacy (my step-mom who has done everything in her power to support me God bless her) decided to host her second annual Halloween "parade" I think it was. All the dogs came dressed in full costume, entered to win prizes, and were showcased around the plantation shops! It was really cute. I unfortunately couldn't bring my pooches because there are too many of them. However, Jersey does have a very beautiful Giesha dress! AND would have won that contest I have no doubt!!! Anyway, back to the story of the night. Stacy also set up a small photo taking area for people to purchase photos of their costumed hounds :) it was a very fun, and very exhausting night. Here are some photos of the parade :)

Sooo much to tell

The month of October has been a whirlwind for me. I never expected to have 3 weddings in one month, but that's exactly what has happened. I've had three weddings, a small magazine cover shoot and a very eventful night at Bark Avenue. I apologize for the lack of blogging here lately but I've barely had time to have a life these past few weeks. Photos from the new weddings will be coming soon!!! :)

Love, & Commitment..... in different shapes and forms are still Love and Commitment

This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing a Union Ceremony. This couple were so much in love, and so dedicated to each other. I had more fun working at this ceremony than any other I've done in the past. Everyone there was just amazing, they were laughing and cutting up the whole day. Nothing was stuffy and with the wedding being at a very popular and upscale venue in Amelia Island you would think that it would have been anything but laid back. There was more love in the eyes of these two individuals than anything I have ever seen before.

My clients opted to remain anonymous so I'm not allowed to use their faces in the photos, I still have some beautiful shots that I wanted to share with everyone here...

My Rockstar Seniors

A few months back I had the pleasure of meeting two extraordinary senior girls. I had done photos for a friend of Jamie's and she contacted me at the beginning of summer asking about senior sessions. It was months before I heard back from her regarding the session. So back in July when summer was in full swing we met up in the center of San Marco to do photos, just so happened it was raining off and on that day. These two girls sat with me in starbucks in San Marco and told me they didn't mind getting wet and they still wanted to do photos if I was alright with it. I immediately fell in love with these girls they are so beautiful and so full of life, we had a great time skipping up and down the sidewalks of San Marco in the rain, got photos with some very dark gloomy clouds overhead, the session and the photos were bar none my favs thus far. You can see the first session my my MySpace Page. Since their first session was cut short by the bad weather we agreed to reschedule the remainder of the shoot for another day. School started back for the girls and they both work so it's taken this long to get the second half of the shoot done. FINALLY we coordinated our schedules and completed their senior session. These girls are amazing, and beautiful and are simply a joy to photograph.
