Tara's so Trashy...

Can I just tell you how cool my secondary photographer is. She got married last month, in Vegas, during Viva Las Vegas.. She takes great photographs, paints custom shoes, makes clothes for dogs... and got married in a black and white wedding dress with a sweet black blusher veil!!!

And in case you didn't know this is what my wedding dress looked like...
Is it becoming obvious why we get along...

Tara and her now hubby currently live downtown and spend loads of time at Starlight in 5 points so when I suggested we do her session there she said it was perfect!

Here are my favs from Tara's Trash The Dress Session... (I'd have had more favs if I could have afforded to fly out to Vegas with her and take them under the pretty lights, but 5 points is the home town second best!)

As with all my clients I asked Tara what song she'd like to use for her slideshow... and she says can I pick ANY song... in which I replied of course!!!

Tara chose a fast rockabilly song by The Reverend Horton Heat (this song was her second choice the first choice I couldn't find anywhere!) The record this comes off of is "Holy Roller" I ironically enough, we took some photos by graffiti that said Holy Rollers on it!!!! too cute!

What I've been up to lately...

For most photographers this is wedding season... For me wedding season seems to be Sept-Dec... last year my busiest month was October and this year all my currently booked weddings are for the winter as well.

Maybe God just knows that I don't like/want to sweat to death :) (although the weather has been great here lately)

I have been keeping busy though, I've had some shoots for the San Marco and Beaches Magazines and other business owners. The first shoot was a while back and I posted a little teaser photo, here are a few more...

They wanted to show how wonderful it can be living in Jacksonville. I think people have a love hate relationship with Jax, either you love it or you hate it... I happen to love it!

A few days after the Watson shoot I went up to Amelia to do a photoshoot for a local business owner. I met Kaye though my step mom Stacy (owner of bark avenue pet boutique) Kaye is AWESOME, she's grown her consulting business on her own, she supports women in business, she's got a stunning house in Amelia, great taste, cool dogs and the lady can cook! We did her photos at her home in Amelia it's simply beautiful, I think she should have small weddings there! LOL

And finally my swimsuit/advertising debut. The Scooter Boutique soon to open in Jacksonville Beach made the front cover of the Beaches Magazine!!!

Cute Mom's Day Shoot & Story...

If you are a friend on my myspace then this will be a bit of a repeat for you.

Back in Feb I ran a special for Sensual Photos for Valentines Day. My clients Heather and Nikki both did a session and loved the photos so much they went around showing their girlfriends the photos. One of their friends contacted me about doing her own photos, it took us like 2 months to come up with a date for the photos. When we finally got them done I had to go to her house to set up for the shoot. Annamarie has a 2yr old little boy named Logyn who was there with her, so my client and friend Nikki came to keep him occupied and play babysitter for about an hour. Well before Nikki arrived Logyn helped me carry in my gear, asked me loads of questions, and other things that 2yr olds do.

About a week before mother's day I get a call from Mr. Davis, Annamarie's husband, about doing surprise Mother's Day photos. I of course said sure and we talked about ideas of where to go and made our plans. My first concern was Logyn recognizing me and saying that's the lady that took pictures of Mommy! And at least one surprise being ruined. Fortunately, Logyn didn't mention anything the day of our shoot and both surprises were kept under wraps!!!

Baby Zach...

Recently I've reconnected with an old friend of mine from high school. She was a year under me but was super cool. Very loud, opinionated, outgoing and just about everything you need to be in order to be popular and memorable from HS.

Joy recently had her third baby boy!! I cannot imagine being the Mother of one let alone three!!!! She's certainly got her hands full... Joy's father is also a photographer in town so I had her check with him before I came over to take a few shots of the newest little one, they are just for fun shots anyway.

My Day May 2 2008

Most of my mornings start off with checking myspace and watching the news while I eat breakfast and prepare for my day... Not this past Friday!!! I was asked to take part of a commercial shoot which is different for me, and I'm working on mother's day photos at the moment but I wanted to show everyone why I love my job soooo stinkin much!!!

Friday May 2nd 2008 my first order of business was to be down at the landing to meet my clients and magazine owner for a photoshoot on their neighbors yacht!!!! Oh it was soooo beautiful (I love the water, beach, lake, boats, pools anything that involves being on or in the water I love it) We passed under the bridge and beside the rail road tracks that run beside what I call the blue light bridge and I've always wanted to see that up close and take a photo of it... well thanks to my cool clients and their amazing morning jaunt down the St. Johns River I finally got me a cool photo of the tracks!!!


There isn't a job in the world I could love more than my career of choice!!!
